Celtic announce triple deal on English deadline day

The transfer window for Celtic has been a frantic one. And with only a couple of days remaining before the deadline, the search for the best options still continues.

Following recent exits, strengthening the midfield has been a priority. However, the Hoops have only been able to add Mika Baur and require more depth in the middle of the park.

The English summer transfer window just closed. And it was a day on which Celtic announced three moves. Two players left while one arrived.

Celtic sign Oliver Sorensen

Celtic have officially announced the arrival of Oliver Sorensen on loan from Parma. The 24-year-old made consistent appearances in Serie A, featuring in a total of 36 games last season in his debut year after arriving from the Danish league.

Though the Danish midfielder has been very good at controlling the tempo and has been defensively active, he has been unable to produce the goals he was scoring in Denmark. Hopefully, his performances in Glasgow can help meet the expectations of the Bhoys.

Having excellent depth has always been a priority, but losing out in the Champions League qualifiers has also left the Hoops with less room to negotiate for better players. The time crunch has further complicated the situation.

Celtic announce double exit

It is not just arrivals that have been announced. Celtic have also agreed to the departures of Reo Hatate and Johnny Kenny to Burnley and Preston North End, respectively.

Replacements are needed and hopefully on the way. Will Celtic be able to get themselves out of this situation to focus on their domestic competitions and the Europa League?

Choosing the perfect replacements could take a while. Shim Mheuka, set to arrive on loan from Chelsea, is expected to be the one for Kenny. Who will take Hatate’s place?
